Export & Documentation
At Italtec Ghana Limited, our Export & Documentation services stand as a cornerstone of our integrated offerings, providing a seamless and compliant pathway for the international export of gold under our licensed operations. We facilitate the shipment of gold to a wide array of destinations worldwide, connecting Ghana’s mining sector with prestigious refineries and markets across the globe. Our export process is meticulously aligned with stringent government regulations, including those set by the Ghana Customs Service and the Bank of Ghana (BOG), ensuring that every transaction adheres to national and international standards.
Our export services are conducted through a well-established framework, delivering gold to world-class refineries overseas while maintaining the highest levels of regulatory compliance. The process begins with a comprehensive documentation procedure, which includes the issuance of detailed assays to verify gold purity, professional invoices, packing lists, customs clearance documents, and airway bills complete with consignee details for the designated destination. This thorough documentation ensures transparency and facilitates smooth customs processing, reflecting our commitment to excellence in every export operation.
A fundamental requirement of our export process is strict adherence to Bank of Ghana regulations. All intended gold exports must comply with the BOG’s precondition, as outlined on the BOG Form ‘A’, which mandates that payment for the gold be wired into Ghana before any shipment can commence. This policy eliminates the possibility of gold shipments under credit terms, a rule enforced to safeguard the integrity of the export market. We strongly advise clients to request detailed information on these regulations and to avoid making payments to any individual or entity outside the prescribed BOG framework, ensuring full compliance and security.
To maintain quality and consistency, Italtec does not permit the export of gold dust. All gold must be smelted into Dore bars, a process conducted at our facility to ascertain purity and establish an accurate invoice value for customs clearance. This step is critical to meeting international trade standards and ensuring that the gold’s value is correctly represented in export documentation. The total cost for export services is calculated at 0.5% of the export value, with an additional Italtec export commission applied. Clients are encouraged to request a detailed commission and export charge sheet to understand the full cost structure and plan their transactions accordingly.
Our experienced export team provides end-to-end support, guiding clients through every stage of the process—from initial documentation to final delivery. We coordinate with regulatory authorities, arrange secure transportation, and offer ongoing updates to ensure timely and efficient shipments. This comprehensive service is designed to minimize delays and maximize value, positioning Italtec Ghana Limited as a trusted partner in the global gold trade.
